LA PALMA

Hiking meditation retreat to La Palma's undiscovered power places

HIKING TRIP

This hiking trip will change your life. The noticeable "fire energy" of La Palma, the active volcanism that you can discover and perceive everywhere, brings enormous development potential with it. Just as the Guanches, the indigenous people of the Canary Islands, used these natural energies for changes in their lives thousands of years ago, this hiking tour gives you a unique opportunity to steer your life and your possibilities in new directions.
Awaken your inner "fire" for new projects and recharge your batteries: every nature lover and hiker gets their money's worth on these wonderful hikes through the blooming islands of La Palma.

La Palma deserves its designation as "La Isla Bonita", the beautiful island, not least because of its very varied natural landscapes. High mountains and majestic mountains, the famous kilometer-sized crater of the Caldera de Taburiente, young volcanoes in a bizarre landscape, the typical Canarian, green pine and laurel forests, all of this in front of the panorama of the sometimes impetuous Atlantic and the trade wind clouds make hiking on La Palma close a fascinating experience.

This trip focuses on the life and traditions of the Guanches, the indigenous people of the Canary Islands. We visit old places of strength and rituals of the Guanches and hear stories and myths from an almost forgotten culture.

Start your development on this journey. Begin a journey to yourself. With guided meditations you will come much deeper into your relaxation and the specially developed rituals give you natural guidance for your personal development process. So combine a wonderful active hiking trip with deep relaxation and personal development in a small group of up to 8 travelers.

After the hikes and the new experiences there is time for exchange, Canarian way of life or simply relax in our small, cozy and comfortable holiday finca in the heart of the Aridane Valley, right between the lively town of Los Llanos and the holiday village of Puerto Naos on the sunny west side.

Customer ratings for the trip

Day 1 - "Bienvenido a La Palma!" - Arrival day
Arrived on La Palma, you will be met personally by your tour guide Tim Pagalies at the airport. Together we then drive to the accommodation in Los Llanos on the west side of the island. The journey takes about 45 minutes. On the drive over the ridge that separates the east and west side of the island, the first promising views of the mountainous landscape are offered.
A first walk leads us through the lovingly designed gardens of our accommodation and the surrounding area as well as to the city of Los Llanos, where we will also be presented with the program for the next week in a selected restaurant after a typical dinner.

Day 2 - "Arrive and speed"

The first day of hiking leads us into the middle of the imposing erosion crater "Caldera de Taburiente", which frames almost the entire northern part of the island. We hike through the imposing, deeply cut canyon of the Barranco de las Angustias along the natural course of the stream, slowly rising up into the valley. You can see everywhere how the water masses have shaped this erosion landscape over the millennia. Through the watercourses, the path is rich in lush plants and unique old trees. With the help of the topic of the day, we consciously direct our perception to a safe arrival and our mental and physical speeds. Meditation helps. "If I bring my speeds in line with my needs," nothing stands in the way of a relaxing holiday.

In the middle of the valley is Mount Idafe, which is sacred to the Guanches (indigenous people of the Canary Islands). We reach the foothills of the mountain around noon and take a break first. After the lunch picnic we will have a so-called “Despacho”, an old shamanic greeting ritual for Mother Earth, together at the Idafe.

After the ritual we hike back down the valley and enjoy the great views of the caldera.

(300 HM + / 300 HM -) 12 km walking time: 5 hours

Day 3 - "Power of Silence"
Today we drive into the heart of the island to the lonely church "Ermitta Virgen del Pino". On the old pilgrimage route that begins there, which is lined with countless magnificent Canarian pines, we will take some time to absorb this special energy of the place in meditation and to prepare ourselves mentally for the following hike in silence. During this time you will have the opportunity to experience nature, these special places and yourself in a very conscious way. We will experience the hike in silence for about 1.5 - 2 hours.
We hike up the valley past some water tunnels and the rock faces of the "Cumbre Nueva" until finally a broad panorama of the "Caldera de Taburiente", through which we hiked the day before, opens up. Here we will have our lunch picnic. After the picnic we hike back through the valley.

This special experience, a hike in silence, will have brought numerous new impressions and may have raised one or the other question. Therefore, under the guidance of the tour guide Tim Pagalies, all participants are given the opportunity in the evening to exchange experiences in a cozy round in the accommodation.
(400 HM + / 400 HM -) 14 km, walking time: 5.5 hours

Day 4 - "Volcanoes, Water and Fire"

We drive to the southern tip of the island. On the trip, on which we have the entire west coast of the island in view, we cross several lava flows and extinct volcanic cones. It soon becomes apparent how different the landscape is in the south of the island.

We hike from Los Canarios to the Teneguia volcano. Once at the top, we enjoy the unique view of the south coast and the surrounding volcanic landscape. On the further way we visit an old ritual place of the Guanches. In a meditation in this special place we can perceive what powerful fire energy is boiling below us. On the further way, down through this unique lava desert, we look inside our "own fire", our emotions and how we deal with it. During the lunch picnic, your guide Tim Pagalies will tell you something about the theory of the elements and how the elements “fire, water, air and earth” influence our lives. Back it goes up through the middle of the special volcanic wine plantations. When the weather is clear you can see as far as the smallest Canary island "El Hierro".

After the hike we drive down to the sea to a very beautiful lava beach. There we have time for extensive bathing.

(400 HM + / 400 HM) 10 km, walking time: 4.5 hours

Day 5 - "My Vision"

Our transfer brings us to the nature campsite Refugio del Pilar in the forest. From here, today's tour goes to the most beautiful volcanoes and panoramic peaks on the island. On the way, first through the beautiful pine forest, we soon come to great viewpoints on the east coast of the island. A meditation at a vantage point connects us with our vision, our future prospects.

Soon we reach the ascent that leads us to Pico Nambroque. The Guanches once hid from the Spanish at the foot of this peak when the island was conquered in the 15th century. Here we learn something of that story. Arrived at Pico Nambroque, a powerful vision meditation will create a deep connection with our very own path and our own potential.

We use the further hike through the volcanic fields of La Palma, small extinct craters and the most bizarre rock and lava formations to look inside and to trace our own vision experience. On the way back we enjoy the wonderful views of the coast, the Caldera de Taburiente and our future!

(450 HM + / 450 HM -) 12 km, walking time: 5.5 hours

Day 6 - "Heart Energy "

The transfer brings us back to the heart of the island, at the foot of Pico Bejenado. On the ascent to what is probably the best vantage point on the island, we turn to an important organ that lies in the center of our body, our heart. A little introduction to the topic of the day and a few questions help us to draw attention to our "affairs of the heart" during the hike.

The higher you get, the higher you get, the more powerful the view of the huge erosion fissures of the caldera and the southern peaks of the island. Once at the top, we enjoy the panoramic view of all parts of the island. Here we have enough time for our lunch picnic.

Just as this mountain forms the heart of the island, the energy of the place supports us to turn to our hearts. Everyone gets some time here to feel this special place in silence.

If there is still enough strength after the ascent, we will make a detour over the Pico El Rodeo on the way back. This descent spoils us with further great views of the caldera.

(700 HM + / 700 HM -) 9 km, walking time: 6-7 hours

Day 7 - "Farewell and Outlook"

This coastal hike on the last day of the hike offers a special highlight, the pirate bay “Porís de Candelaria”. We drive to Tijarafe on the west coast of the island. Arrived in this tranquil place, we hike, past many prickly pears, into the Barranco del Jorado, which leads to the steep coast of Playa del Jorado. This Barranco is another tremendous example of the naturally formed craters on this island.

At the lonely Playa del Jorado we have the first bathing opportunity of the day, provided the Atlantic is not too stormy today. Because this beach is very exposed and unprotected. If the weather permits, there is hardly any other bathing place on the west coast where you can swim so undisturbed. Either way, it's a worthwhile first picnic stop. Further along the steep coast we soon reach the unique rocky bay “Porís de Candelaria”. This huge rock overhang used to be an ideal shelter for pirates and local "dropouts". For a long time the place could only be reached by a dangerous route or by boat. The well-preserved huts in the bay are abandoned today.

At this natural amphitheater we take time for an extended lunch picnic. If you want, you can unpack your bathing suit again and swim a lap through the bay. What a great place for that!

After our break we turn to the farewell ritual to say goodbye to this tour and the people. This farewell ritual helps us to consciously say goodbye and look forward to upcoming events. An important process to let go and to be able to return freely to our everyday life with the newly gained energy.

(650 m + / 650 m -) 10 km, walking time: 6 hours

Day 8 - "Hasta luego La Palma!" -End of the tour

After the last breakfast together, there is still some time until the airport transfer, which usually starts at 1 p.m. This time can be used very well to get some typical Canarian souvenirs in Los Llanos. Or you can simply enjoy the tranquility of the complex and sit down in the garden with a good book.

All those who have extended their trip can now look forward to more eventful days on the "island of fire" and plan the next few days.

Individual extension: Before or after the trip, an extension of the stay in the accommodation or at another location can be planned, also with a rental car. Lupe Reisen is happy to help with the organization.

On the way to the airport we get another good all-round view of all parts of the island and can remember the many special experiences that this island has brought us.

Hasta luego La Palma!

Customer testimonials

Andrea V. on June 15, 2017

Every hike was unique and each one beautiful in its own way. The tour guide organized everything very well, we individually and very cheaply supplied ourselves with very tasty food and we had a good meal. The accommodation is great and relaxing after the hikes. The island is a dream!

Birgit M. on July 30, 2016

The energy tour La Palma is a gift: The incredibly beautiful hikes in beautiful nature with fascinating views, the fire energy through which Tim accompanied us with his mindfulness, the shamanic meditations and rituals through which we were able to relive the spiritual bond with nature and of course, the interesting stories about the indigenous people of La Palma, the great organization, the great accommodation and a lot of fun, made this trip an unforgettable experience.

Ilona. on 08/03/2017

Anyone traveling with Tim Pagalies will get to know traveling anew. Tim not only hikes the beautiful nature of La Palma with one - it is rather a journey to oneself. While hiking, I once again noticed what was blocking me in life. Thanks to Tim's special instinct and empathy, you learn to let go and to grow beyond yourself. When I arrived (I arrived a few days before the group) I felt the very special energy of the island and fell in love with this island. The wonderful rituals and meditations that Tim instructed made the vacation unforgettable for me. I was touched deep in my heart and learned from the island. La Palma opened its gates to me and through Tim's stories about the history of the indigenous peoples gave me a look into the world of the Benahoare. The beauty of the sky, the stars, the sea, the mountains, the volcanoes and the beauty in myself was revealed to me. Thank you Tim!
