IRELAND

Hiking meditation retreat in Ireland's Celtic power places

HIKING TRIP

This hiking tour combines hiking in the wonderful landscape of Ireland's Burren with many moments that make relaxation and development more conscious and therefore much more sustainable. We hike to ancient stone circles and power places of the Celts, which are often only known to the locals. Through stories and traditions we learn what a wealth of knowledge the Celts had about the healing connection to nature and its elements. Every day we look at central aspects of our life in order to consciously stimulate development processes in us.

Start your development on this journey. Begin a journey to yourself. With guided meditations you will come much deeper into your relaxation and the specially developed rituals give you natural guidance for your personal development process. So combine a wonderful active hiking trip with deep relaxation and personal development in a small group of up to 8 travelers.

There will be no Ireland retreat in 2019! Dates for 2020 are being planned!

Day 1: arrival day

Arrival in Dublin. You will be met personally at the airport. On the approx. 3.5 hour drive you get an impression of the typical landscape of Ireland. In addition, you can get to know one or the other face better. After arriving there is still the opportunity to take a first tour of the idyllic town of Cong. In the evening after dinner, a detailed view of the upcoming tour is given.

Day 2: My speed (s)

The area around Cong offers very nice hiking opportunities and, above all, special places of energy.

A short transfer brings us to the foot of a beautifully situated Table Mountain, which was already considered a place of special attraction in the times of the Celts. On the way to the summit, we dedicate ourselves to the subject of "speeds". The speeds that we assume and that we live. You can look at your current pace and see if other speeds are more comfortable for you. It's not just about how fast you go, it's also about how quickly your thoughts change. Once at the summit, there is a great panorama of the wide landscape and the lakes of Joice Country. There we have an extensive picnic lunch. A small group ritual lets us arrive at this place consciously and gives us fresh energy for the further hike.

(approx. 12 km, approx. 400 meters in altitude)

Day 3: light and dark

In the morning after breakfast, a short transfer brings us to a very well-preserved stone circle. There are of course some myths and legends about this stone circle. After a short historical and mythological introduction, we will put a picture together with natural gifts in the middle of the circle. This is a gift to Mother Nature that connects us with nature and this group for this journey. After the ritual we go back to Cong and have lunch.

After lunch we first visit the nearby Cong Abbey and learn something about its history. We soon come to the foothills of the Cong Forest through the pretty monastery garden. A forest with very old, imposing trees and wild mosses. Many people assure that they have already met elves and trolls here. We hike through the forest to a lonely cave. There you can find out how shamanic traditions work with the subconscious. You are invited to say goodbye to old baggage with the help of a ritual and to go into upcoming tasks more freely.

(approx. 10 km, 50 m ascent)

Day 4: sources of strength

On the way to Cleggan we stop at an old, inconspicuous healing spring along the way. Locals know about her wonderful things to report. From Cleggan we take the ferry to Inishbofin, the "island of the white cow". After moving into the hotel and an invigorating lunch, we take a first look at the mystical landscape of this Atlantic island. We go to another healing spring at a wonderfully located cemetery. An extensive meditation allows us to establish a connection to our “sources of strength”. A ritual with “power stones” on the nearby beach gives us the opportunity to anchor our own sources of strength more firmly in life.

(approx. 6 km, 50 HM, change of hotel)

Day 5: The silence

Small islands have always been places of retreat and reflection. Surrounded by the wild, confused forces of the sea, the strength and tranquility are concentrated there on a small patch of earth. This wonderful power of Inishbofin gives us the possibility of a little “retreat” today. During the hike we go into silence again and again today. This makes it easier to perceive emerging thoughts and images. We take the time to explore the unique nature of this island and to absorb its effect and energy there in silence. If you want, you can pay attention to what nature triggers and changes in you. Maybe also what new potentials it releases in you. At the end of the hiking day we share our experiences together.

(approx. 12 km, 150 m ascent)

Day 6: A break

We take a day off on this beautiful island. You get the opportunity to process the experiences you have made in peace and to look at other parts of the island. There are some worthwhile hikes to remote places and beaches. Or you can borrow a bike. The tour guide Tim Pagalies has all the information ready for this and for another day.

Day 7: My inner mountain

We leave Inishbofin again and drive to Mount Croagh Patrick. This mountain exudes a special attraction. It was a holy mountain of the Celts and is still an important place of pilgrimage for Christians today. On the way to the top of the mountain, you can look back on this special journey through Ireland and what you have experienced. In order to get in the right mood, a meditation around the foot of the mountain helps. Experience consciously what the mountain “whispers” to you during the strenuous walk. They may be important messages for your further path.

When we arrive at the summit, we enjoy the breathtaking view. Not a single soul has remained unimpressed by this view of one of the most beautiful coastal panoramas in Ireland.

(approx. 10 km, 765 m altitude)

Day 8: my vision

Everyone who still has a bit tired legs from the day before will be happy. Today's hike goes along the picturesque Killary Fjord without great differences in altitude. A short transfer brings us to the starting point of the hike.

Always keeping an eye on the Killary Fjord, we walk to a remote fishing village where Ludwig Wittgenstein often visited a friend. Here he found the peace to write his famous texts. We immerse ourselves completely in this tranquility of this landscape and inwardly turn to our vision of the future.

What are my dreams and ideas for my future? What do I have to achieve for this?

A profound vision ritual at Killary Fjord builds us an inner bridge to our vision and makes it clear to us what needs to be done now. On the way back we enjoy the wonderful views of the landscape and our coming life.

(approx. 12 km, 50 m ascent)

Day 9: letting go

A special highlight awaits us on the last day. We hike to a lonely waterfall. This area on Ireland's only fjord is criss-crossed by rivers, streams, springs and subterranean watercourses that, like veins, supply this piece of earth with life. When we arrive at the waterfall, we dedicate ourselves to the element of water and its purifying effect. A ritual will help us to put aside worries and fears and approach new tasks with optimism.
The rest of the way leads us over the green hills above the fjord. Rewarded with numerous beautiful views, we go to a friendly farewell ritual that deliberately lets us say goodbye to all companions.

(approx. 11 km, 600 m ascent)

Day 10: Return to Dublin Airport

After breakfast we drive back to Dublin Airport. During the transfer we still have a little time to listen to the Irish music and maybe say: Good bye Ireland. I'll be back!
